September 17 Update

Changes- AC and GC.

The following changes/improvements have been made to the AC

and GC games.

1.      The position in the game can be saved to independent accessible files and there is no limit on the number of files.
2.      Loading an old part played game I now activated from within the program and not on the start screen.
3.      The court can now be easily dragged to move the view around.
4.      The balls can be easily dragged across the lawn in both the eye view and top view to allow positioning as required.
5.      In AC croquet there is now a choice of colour after the first ball is played on to the lawn

6.      The ability to change the speed of the lawn has been stopped because it did not function correctly and the speed has been fixed at 13 Plummers.
7.      As some players find the pace of the game slow the speed of play can be increased to up to a factor of 4 as well as being slowed for checking hoop shots etc. The speed can be locked.
8.      The accuracy of shooting can now be changed under the options tabs so that if players consider that the average accuracy is too good they can change it.
9.      The shot length inaccuracy has been increased to be more representative.

Tutor Versions of each Game.
Tutor Versions of both AC and GC are now available at an additional cost of £10 to anyone who has purchased the games to date. They are different and it is not sensible to play a game on the tutor versions because there is no shooting inaccuracy. Purchase of the Tutor version will also include the game version.
The purpose of the tutor versions is to enable coaches to prepare sequences of shots and record them so that they can be played back in the future.  A library of the saved files can be set up to disseminate the knowledge of the coaches to a wider field of players.
The following can be done.

1.      Set up a file name and start the recording sequence.

2.      Play a series of shots.

3.      If the shot goes wrong step back and play it again until it is correct. There is no error in the shooting accuracy to make it easier to ply the demonstration strokes.

4.      Complete the sequence of shots and stop recording.

5.      Locate the file and play back the sequence with a click for each shot to allow the coach to talk whilst playing the shots.

6.      Step back and forth through the shots if someone is not clear on what has been done.

7.      The mallet I shown very briefly at the start of the shot without the long swing and can be turned off completely if desired.

The shots can be played at a faster speed to limit the time required to watch the ball come to rest.

8.      It should be noted that the actual shot is replayed and where the ball hits a hoop the variability of the behaviour of the hoop means that the final position may not always be the same. To compensate for this the ball is repositioned to the correct position at the start of the next shot. So you may see the balls positions move when this occurs.

9.      The ability to play the shots whilst describing what should be done means that videos can be recorded and made available via U Tube.

10.  If desired, send a copy of the file to brookwoodcroquet@gmail.com with description of the play. An indexed library will be set up from which players can down load the files.
